Day 1: Nairobi > Masai Mara

Leave Nairobi for Masai Mara Game Reserve, picnic lunch en-route.  On arrival proceed to the lodge for lunch.  After lunch and a short rest spend the afternoon bird spotting in the vast reserve where there is plenty of bird’s species to see including the plains wide variety of wild game. Dinner and overnight at lodge/campsite.

Day 2 & 3:  Masai Mara

Full day bird watching and game viewing in the Mara with an option nature walk or visit to a nearby Masai village in between the meal breaks. Dinner and overnight at a lodge/campsite.  (Masai village visit is at an extra cost).

Day 4: Masai Mara > Naivasha

After breakfast, leave for lake Naivasha.  After lunch, visit Hells Gate National Park famous for its natural steaming geysers and a haven for bird watchers, and the geothermal power plant. Dinner and overnight at Lake Naivasha country club/campsite.

Day 5: Lake Naivasha > Lake Nakuru

After breakfast, explore the rich, bird filled gardens or an optional boat ride to the crescent island (at an extra cost).  After, proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving in time for lunch.  Lake Nakuru is a home of millions of flamingos and the home of the white rhino and about 350 different species of birds.  It’s known as:  ORNITHOLOGICAL PARADISE. Dinner and overnight at a budget hotel/lodge/campsite.

Day 6: Lake Nakuru > Lake Baringo

After breakfast, and bird watching enroute drive to lake Baringo one of the two fresh water lakes along the Great Rift Valley, lake Baringo supports an enormous number of bird species and a large number of hippos.  Arrive in Lake Baringo in time for lunch.  After lunch take a one-hour bird watching trip by boat to the crescent island and to view hippos too.  At the island you can take excursions at an extra cost like a visit to the njemps village and dancing or to the local snake farm. Dinner and overnight at a lodge/campsite.

Day 7: Lake Baringo > Lake Bogoria >Treetops

After breakfast, visit Lake Bogoria a shallow soda lake home to a large number of birds and the rare lesser kudu.  Scalding hot springs and geysers at the southern end of the lakes spurt and steam their alkaline waters.  The bubbling of hot springs, hundreds of singing weaverbirds and a million flamingos feeding in the bluish water present a rare scenic beauty.  Leave for Treetops via Thompson falls to arrive at Outspan Hotel (the base for Treetops) in time for lunch.  The current British Queen was holidaying at the Treetops when she received the news about her fathers’ death and here ascension to the throne.  After lunch you will be transferred to treetops, which is in the Aberdares National Park. Dinner and overnight at the tree hotel.  Game viewing from your room’s balcony, where you have a fantastic view of the animals that flock the floodlit waterhole and saltlick below.

Day 8: Treetops > Samburu

After breakfast, leave for Samburu to arrive the lodge/camp in time for lunch.  Evening game drive provided.

Day 9: Samburu

Pre breakfast, bird watching and game drive.  After breakfast day spent at leisure.  Evening game drive is ideal for spotting the rare lioness that is famous for its unusual ability to adopt various antelopes especially the Oryx. Dinner and overnight at lodge/campsite.

Day 10: Samburu > Nairobi

After breakfast, have a game drive enroute to Nairobi to arrive in the early afternoon.
