Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve
After an early breakfast, depart from Nairobi and drive north to Samburu National Reserve, with a stop at the equator line for photos and a demonstration. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge or camp. In the afternoon, embark on your first game drive in this unique arid ecosystem, searching for the 'Samburu Special Five' — the reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra, beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, and gerenuk. Dinner and overnight at your accommodation.
Day 2: Full Day Exploring Samburu
Begin with an early morning game drive when animals are most active, focusing on the Ewaso Nyiro River where elephants, lions, and crocodiles gather. Return to the lodge for breakfast and relaxation during the midday heat. After lunch, venture out for another extensive afternoon game drive, exploring different areas of the reserve and tracking the unique wildlife of northern Kenya.
Day 3: Samburu to Nairobi
Enjoy one final early morning game drive in Samburu, capturing last glimpses of the special wildlife. After breakfast at the lodge, check out and begin your journey back to Nairobi. Stop for lunch en route and arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon, where you'll be dropped off at your hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your departure flight.
